Music Provides Insight to the “Outsiders” Essays

Music Provides Insight to the â€Å"Outsiders† Essays Music Provides Insight to the â€Å"Outsiders† Essay Music Provides Insight to the â€Å"Outsiders† Essay Paper Topic: The Outsiders â€Å"Jane Says† is a moving portrayal of a whore dependent on courageous woman composed and performed by the band Jane’s Addiction.â The band was named after this lady, who was an individual the lead vocalist Perry Farrell knew well.â He was moved enough by her circumstance that he did this in her respect. The tune is one of the more standard Jane’s Addiction tracks and is played on a few radio broadcasts catching a huge American crowd. Jane’s just genuine love is the medication that devours her.â The verses express that she has never been infatuated and possibly knows when a man needs her for sex.â Her life is an endless loop that solitary other â€Å"outsiders† understand.â She whores for drugs, utilizes the medications and returns out looking for money.â She holds promising herself without any result that she will â€Å"kick tomorrow†, as in quit utilizing heroine.â She, likewise, accepts that she will set aside her cash and go to Spain. The verses recommend that she is miserable and furious, yet doesn't have the foggiest idea how to escape this terrible circumstance. This tune can be dissected in the setting that all pariahs experience these issues in various forms.â One starts risky conduct and distances themselves from standard society.â They at that point start an exciting ride of what society marks freak and their cycle proceeds and twists wild. I accept that it is certain that this melody is played on numerous American radio broadcasts, so that those, who don't comprehend the predicament of these â€Å"outsiders† can be to some degree enlightened.â The significant token to be taken from this melodious work is that even those in the most down and out circumstances despite everything have dreams and emotions. All in all what â€Å"Jane Says† is the thing that all untouchables state in various ways.â We ought not abandon individuals in these circumstances, since standard society has disregarded them.â When individuals despite everything have dreams of a superior life, they may change.â The issue is they will always be unable to completely coordinate go into the standard with so much judgment and misjudging on individuals oblivious to these lifestyles.â This solitary pushes them back in the channels.

How to Practically Implement the Theory of Constraints

How to Practically Implement the Theory of Constraints Talking about something can be easy. But when it comes to taking action, the task can be daunting. This may be due to a lack of understanding of what is to be done. It can also be caused by a lack of experience in taking the kind of action required.Yet you should not give up and wait to see what follows your inaction.Whether you are a startup or a large corporation, you definitely want to make your operations more efficient.Having learned about the Theory of Constraints in a previous article, today we want to focus primarily on implementation. We will use a company example to see how every step of the theory can be implemented.6 STEPS TO FOLLOW IN IMPLEMENTING THE THEORY OF CONSTRAINTSWe will go straight into defining our environment. For this article, we will assume that you run a car manufacturing plant. The name of the car you manufacture is Future and the company name is the same.Your goal is to have Future outdo the competition by providing an affordable high quality electric car. It has all the technology to go with it including a wireless connection. This is to enable it get software updates from you while picking calendar events from the owner to plan for trips. With such a great product, you have already made some sales. You are currently improving the product by incorporating customer feedback into the manufacturing process. From your marketing campaigns, people are excited and you have received pre-orders for the improved version. Though initially not sure about pre-orders, you decided to give your customers the opportunity. You met with your finance, production and logistics managers and set the pre-order price. Money came in and now have your hands full. It’s time to work. The ProblemFrom making an annual sale of 300 units, you now have orders for 700 units. You have promised to deliver within 10 months. From your estimation, this is possible.Unfortunately, the possibility proves impossible.Since you need to produce 70 units per month, you hire more staff to fill the gap. The work seems to continue well, only that at the end of the first month, you have only produced 45 cars. From a quick analysis, you realize that the staff have not been working as fast as you need them to. But some managers inform you that the work cannot be done faster otherwise the quality will be compromised. You still push them and the second month sees 5 more produced. At this point, you are 45 units behind schedule. The first month was 25 cars less (70 â€" 45) while the second month was 20 less (70 â€" 50).At this rate, you will need 4 more months to fulfill the order of 700 cars. You need to do something fast. You need to communicate to the customers as soon as possible and prepare them for a delay. What exactly went wrong?Let’s find out.1. Identify a Measurable GoalIn using the theory of constraints, there is a step which is often overlooked. Perhaps the step is seen to be too obvious to be mentioned. But that assumption can be very costly. This is the step whe re you identify a measurable goal. With a measurable goal, you are then able to find out what is causing you not to achieve your goal.Skipping this step leaves you with no clear way of knowing whether you are performing well or not.Let’s look at how this works in the company Future. There were pre-orders for 700 cars. From your estimation, these would have been produced within 10 months. What is it that would have happened if you never checked how much you were manufacturing every month? What if you just waited for 10 months to lapse then sought to deliver? You would have been shocked to find that you only had 450 cars. From your follow-up, you managed to push the production to 50 cars on the second month. With everything remaining constant, you would then have 495 cars by the end of month ten.Because you had identified the need for 70 units per month, you were able to easily recognize when a problem occurred. This is your measurable goal.If you didn’t have it, you would be taken by surprise come delivery day. Or you would notice the shortfall when it was too late. This would have resulted in negative press once angry customers took you to task.2. Identify the ConstraintFor a successful utilization of the theory of constraints, first realize that there is a problem. The presence of a problem is however not all you need to realize. The bigger task is to identify the problem itself.More specifically, identify the cause of the problem. This problem is what the theory refers to as a constraint. Another word used for it is the bottleneck. It is where the flow of work is most limited, hindering optimized operations.Identifying the constraint can take some time. In some cases, it may not be very clear. For that reason, a hurried inquiry may lead to a wrong conclusion. This is as bad as treating a non-existent disease. When a misdiagnosis is given at the hospital, the problem worsens. The current disease remains unnoticed while another one is indirectly introduced. So, letâ €™s identify the constraint. In Future, where you manufacture a similarly-named car, you have five main processes in production.1. Production of the engine â€" this is one of the time-consuming parts of your manufacturing. Considering the number of your staff, you can do a maximum of four engines on a good day. You need around 2 hours to finish one.2. Production of the chassis â€" this takes the second-longest to complete. A total of 1.5 hours is needed for the chassis.3. Production of the body â€" this also uses 1.5 hours to produce. The design of Future makes it time consuming. For the aerodynamics conditions to be met, more time is needed.4. Production of the tires â€" the production part which needs the least time to manufacture is the tires. The modern machines used and the highly-automated process make a huge difference. Four tires are produced in a record 30 minutes. This means that when one body is complete, there are enough tires for 3 cars. In the two hours needed to finish working on the engine, there are tires for 4 cars.5. Assembly of the car â€" assembling the car takes 3 hours. Although the initial stages of this process are carried out by machines, there are final touches which need a human hand. All in all, to produce one car, it takes a total of 5 hours. This is because the engine, chassis, body and tires are all produced concurrently. These processes run separately but at the same time. The item taking the most time to produce is what determines the total production time. That item is the engine. Since it takes 2 hours to produce the engine, and 3 hours to assemble everything, the whole car takes 5 hours.6. Storage â€" after the successful manufacturing of every car, it is moved to the storage area. This is done in less than 5 minutes. It is safe not to consider this as part of production. So what is the constraint? The constraint lies in the assembly. This is the part of the production where things slow down. It is the most time-consuming part of the process and it hinders faster production.3. Exploit the ConstraintThe next step is to look for ways of exploiting the constraint. This is where you seek to make the most out of the constraint. In most cases, most managers will seek to do an upgrade of the system so as to increase the capacity. Obviously this is a viable option but with the theory of constraints, that is not the best option. At least not at this point. This theory dictates that before undertaking major system changes, first make minor ones. These small changes will increase your productivity at a lower cost and help you understand the shortcomings of your system. In a way, this is what initially happened at Future. Due to increased pressure, the staff were able to produce 5 more vehicles without any increase in operational costs. At this point however, the area of focus is the assembly line. How do you exploit it for maximum production? You will need to do two things:1. Identify the cause of the problem â€" since you can never fix a problem you are not aware of, first identify the problem. What exactly happens at the assembly point? How is the work carried out? What do the employees do before receiving the parts to be assembled? What happens to the assembly machine? With work beginning every morning, the staff in this section are mainly idle. The machines which do the primary assembly are also off. They get switched on once the parts are available from the other processes. The machines themselves take around 15 minutes to be ready.Looking at the assembly process, you notice that between the machine shift and human shift, some time is lost. From your estimation, this is around 20 minutes. More than that, the human part of the work takes more time as your staff counter-check each other’s work three times. With each employee taking around 10 minutes to finish the assembly, it eventually takes 30 minutes for three employees.2. Fix the cause of the problem â€" with so much time getting wasted, what do you do?The solution is to cut off the “extra” time being used to do what has already been done i.e. counter-checking. This is the solution for the last part of the process. For the time taken before the machines are ready to start assembly, the machines can be switched on 30 minutes before receiving the parts. This will eliminate the 15 minutes wasted during powering. The additional 15 minutes can be used to check the machines for any problems. Then there are the 20 minutes getting lost as the final product moves from the machines to the human workers. If your staff stand ready to receive the work from the machine, they will save this 20 minutes. If they switch the machines on before the production processes are completed, they will save a further 15 minutes.Lastly, doing away with two of the counter-checking staff avails 20 more minutes. In total, you will save 55 minutes if you implement these changes. This can easily be rounded off to 1 hour if the workers simply concentrate on the w ork being done. This solution will increase the efficiency of the constraint. There will be no time wasted. The machines will be ready for work as soon as the production phase is complete. If 1 hour is saved at the assembly line, then it will take 4 hours to complete one car. If the work is being done in 8-hour day shifts, then one day can see 2 vehicles completed. This is as opposed to the need for a 10-hour day shift if finishing one car in 5 hours. If manufacturing takes place every day of the week, then you will be able to produce at least 60 cars in a month. This is 10 more from the 50 you are getting after piling pressure on your staff. This stage focuses on maximizing the constraint. When you do this, overall productivity is improved.4. Subordinate to the ConstraintThis is the stage where you make changes to the other stages of production. This is to align them with the constraint. At first, this may seem counter-intuitive, but there is a good reason for it.When you align all operat ions to the constraint, you create some advantages. Some of these are:Easy monitoring of the system â€" it becomes easy to see what is going on in each area of operation. The point of focus is the constraint thus your attention will be on it. With a keener eye on the constraint, you are able to ensure the changes you made are implemented and working.Increased inventory safety â€" when individual parts of the whole system are working at maximum capacity, one danger lurks in the shadows. Inventory safety is compromised. If you are producing 4 tires in half an hour yet assembly takes 3 hours, where are the extra tires going?Of course they can be stored awaiting assembly time. But this arrangement opens the door to potential loss of inventory. If the tires are way more than the engine and chassis, it becomes easy to lose track.Improved collaboration â€" subordinating to the constraint makes every system work at the pace of the constraint. This means everyone works at the same pace. The f low of work will be improved since all your staff are on the same page. This is what teamwork should be like. How do you subordinate to the constraint? There are two simple steps. The second one is more of an “extra” step you can take to further improve productivity at the constraint.STEP NO. 1: Reduce the number of tires being produced. For every 2 hours needed for assembly, have only one set of four tires produced. Since chassis and body production take 1.5 hours each, those can remain as they are.At the beginning of every working day, the individual processes can begin. The aim is to produce only one product after 2 hours; an engine, body, chassis and four tires. These go into the assembly line. While assembling the car is ongoing, those individual processes start over again. The aim? Produce only one item. This includes the tires where only one set is to be produced.Although the engine guys will not experience any change, those working on the chassis and body will experience s ome idle time. The same applies to the tire producers. This is all okay because your intention is to stop having a backlog at the constraint. Whenever there is a backlog, things often go wrong. For instance, your staff at the constraint will feel overwhelmed. Whenever there is a feeling of being overwhelmed, unproductivity is the end result. Source: Sacha ChuaThere is nothing worse than going home knowing you did not finish today’s work. Even refreshing your mind becomes a challenge. When your staff go home having finished the day’s work, they feel good about themselves. They have accomplished the day’s goal.In the long run therefore, you will have invested in your system by investing in your staff.STEP NO. 2: Take the idle staff to the assembly line. While focusing on the constraint, it might be great to make further improvements at the constraint. Since your tire guys have 1.5 hours of rest and your chassis and body producers have 30 minutes each of free time, they can help out with assembly. This is a cheap way of utilizing your staff. If you were not using the theory of constraints, you probably would have rushed to hire more staff for your assembly. But following this theory, you have taken a different route. One that has saved you considerable amounts of money. It is also important to realize that rushing to hire more staff doesn’t necessarily solve problems. You will have to train the new employees and have them familiarize themselves with everything. It becomes an additional cost yet you most likely never understood what the problem really was. With this management theory, you tackle issues one by one, starting with the most urgent one. This gives you a thorough understanding of the root causes of the problem.Furthermore, any improvements made in the system have a longer-lasting effect.5. Increase the Constraint’s CapacityOnce you have done all the above and decide you still want more cars produced per day, it’s now time to make an expensive investment. You have many options to choose from. You may decide to buy or lease more machines which handle the initial part of the assembly. You can also buy more advanced machines and have a fully-automated car assembly system.Still, there is the option of outsourcing this part of the production process. The options are as many as you can think of.At the end of the day, what matters is that you have made tremendous savings. These come in cash when you avoided an expensive upgrade too early. And in reducing the amount of backlog for the constraint, you prevented potential inventory loss.Better still, you have improved internal efficiency by dealing with the real problem. This management methodology is helpful in training someone to eliminate noise and get to the root of the problem.6. Repeat the Above Process with a New ConstraintHaving done the good job of dealing with the constraint, you need to check the system again for another constraint. There will most likely be another one which you didn’t see at first since it wasn’t the biggest bottleneck. You should follow the above steps in dealing with that new constraint.Repeating this process severally will help you make systematic changes in a manageable manner.CONCLUSIONThis was a realistic example of how the theory of constraints can be implemented. You can visualize the practical steps and apply them in your company. You will definitely experience the benefits.

Personal Experience A Live Opera - 754 Words

Speaking of watching a live opera, I had two extremely different experiences. Before taking this course, I have never watched a live opera in person. When I went to New York City during the spring break, I watched Prince Igor in the Metropolitan Opera House. And at the end of March, I watched The Magic Flute produced by the Music School of UM in the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre. It is apparent that the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre is not as magnificent as the Metropolitan Opera House in regard to construction. However, when it comes to listening experience, surprisingly, the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre outstands the Metropolitan Opera. Because opera singers and the orchestra don’t use microphone devices, sitting in a smaller theater enables me to hear the music more clearly. I can also feel the presence of the orchestra team and the orchestra compliments the singing well. And what’s more, it’s important to me that I can see the actions and facial expressions of the singe rs, which draws me into the plots. Compared to this, watching a show in the Metropolitan Opera House is less engaging no matter how many people it can contain. I felt I was watching opera on a small TV screen from a remote place and I couldn’t feel the power the sound. It could be that the plots of opera itself can make a difference. Prince Igor is historical opera that doesn’t have too many stage effects. The Magic Flute is a romantic fairytale and a comedy, which is more relatable for me. Sphinx Moths, Family Sphingidae

Members of the family Sphingidae, the sphinx moths, attract attention with their large size and ability to hover. Gardeners and farmers will recognize their larvae as the pesky hornworms that can wipe out a crop in a matter of days. All About Sphinx Moths Sphinx moths, also known as hawkmoths, fly fast and strong, with rapid wingbeats. Most are nocturnal, though some visit flowers during the day. Sphinx moths are medium to large in size, with thick bodies and wingspans of 5 inches or more. The top of the forewing is a dark olive-brown with lighter brown on the margin with a narrow tan band along the wingtip to the base, and white streaks on the veins. The top of the hindwing is black with a dark pink band. Their abdomens typically end in a point. In sphinx moths, the hindwings are markedly smaller than the forewings. Antennae are thickened. Sphinx moth larvae are called hornworms, for a harmless but pronounced horn on the dorsal side of their hind ends. Some hornworms do significant damage to agricultural crops and are therefore considered pests. In their final instars (or developmental stages between molts), sphinx moth caterpillars can be quite large, some measuring as long as your pinky finger. Classification of Sphinx Moths Kingdom – AnimaliaPhylum – ArthropodaClass – InsectaOrder – LepidopteraFamily - Sphingidae The Sphinx Moth Diet Most adults nectar on flowers, extending a long proboscis to do so. Many people plant moonlight or fragrance gardens to attract such nocturnal pollinators as the sphinx moth. The Sphinx Moth  Life Cycle Female moths lay eggs, usually singly, on host plants. Larvae may hatch within a few days or several weeks, depending on species and environmental variables. When the caterpillar reaches its final instar, it pupates, or transforms into the final adult stage. Most Sphingid larvae pupate in the soil, though some spin cocoons in leaf litter. In places where winter occurs, Sphingid moths overwinter in the pupal stage. Special Adaptations and Defenses Some sphinx moths nectar on pale, deep flowers, employing an unusually long proboscis. The proboscis of certain Sphingidae species can measure a full 12 inches long. They have the longest tongue of any moth or butterfly. Sphinx moths are also famous for their ability to hover at flowers, much like hummingbirds. In fact, some Sphingids resemble bees or hummingbirds and can move sideways and stop in midair. Charles Darwin predicted that the hawk or sphinx moth pollinated  star orchids of Madagascar with their foot-long nectar spurs. He was initially ridiculed for this prediction, but was later proved correct. Range and Distribution Worldwide, over 1,200 species of sphinx moths have been described. About 125 species of Sphingidae live in North America. Sphinx moths live on all continents except Antarctica.

The meaning of depreciation and why it occurs Free Essays

string(288) " had when trading in your vehicle Cheaper vehicles tend to bring better monetary values during Jan through the first portion of Feb as demand is increased by pupils, and public-service corporation type vehicles tend to bring better monetary values at the start of the vacation seasons 1\." 1.What is depreciation and why do we account for it? Depreciation is the continous monthly devaluing of movable assets, allowed by SARS to enable concerns to cipher existent values on such assets. All movable assets depreciate in value over clip, as they are used in twenty-four hours to twenty-four hours concern and vehicles in peculiar lose value as they aquire Kms and acquire older The depreciation procedure allows concerns to let for replacing of such movable assets as good as to enable such concerns to sell off such assets when new 1s are neccesary 2. We will write a custom essay sample on The meaning of depreciation and why it occurs or any similar topic only for you Order Now Do two vehicles of the same brand with similar characteristics deprectiate at the same rate. Why is this so? Vehicles of the same brand, could deprecate at different rates due to different applications eg a driver of one vehicle may make higher milage than the following. The status of the vehicle is besides influenced by its application ( what it is used for ) every bit good as driving manners service intervals, accidents etc. 3.What factors, exept the brand of the vehicle, act upon the monetary value of a second-hand auto? Used vehicle values are influenced by a big assortment of factors, of which supply and demand most surely have the biggest influence. Other factors which are of import to observe are: 3.1 General status of the vehicle 3.2 Cost of fixs neccesary to market the used vehicle efficaciously, eg Tyre wear, etc. 3.3 Mileage 3.4 Age or Year theoretical account 4. If a newer theoretical account of a auto comes out, how does this impact the monetary value of the old theoretical account and the second-hand market? A new theoretical account does non neccesarily act upon the monetary value of a used theoretical account negatively. This procedure is driven entirely by supply and demand. There are many cases of used vehicles really appreciating after a new theoretical account is launched. Major conrtibuting factors to such scenarios would be the monetary value, handiness, and popularity of the freshly launched theoretical account as opposed to its pre dessesor.eg The new theoretical account may non be as popular due do whatever ground ( monetary value, reliabilty, features etc ) A good illustration of this is the Toyota Landcruizer Pickup ( these vehicles really increase in value because of the of all time increasing monetary value of newer theoretical accounts ) I many cases the opposite is true. Newly launched theoretical account genarally offer more characteristics as good every bit good as modernised styling and forms and the increased demand may so influenceowners of old theoretical accounts to purchase, doing an over supply on used theoretical accounts, therefore act uponing valuse of used vehicles negatively. 5.How does VAT work in the sale of a second-hand auto? Input VAT is claimed by the trader on the prurchase monetary value ( trade-in monetary value ) at the set rate, effectivley devaluating the vehicle by 14 % at the current VAT rate. A net income border is so added to the adjusted cost monetary value of the vehicle and VAT added to the amount of the adjusted cost monetary value plus the net income border ( retail monetary value ) VAT is hence efficaciously charged merely on the accomplished net income of a used vehicle 6.Are there any guidelines when pricing a second-hand auto? The most normally used guidline is a used value brochure issued by Mead and Mcgrouther, naming used vehicle values by maker per theoretical account derived function. These guidelines are compliled by manner of a complex coverage system aquired by the providers of the brochure from information gathered monthly from a broad spectrum of traders who report to Mead and Mc Grouther on the follwing issues. 1. Higest monetary value realised on each specific brand and theoretical account. 2. lowest monetary value realised on each specific brand and theoretical account 3. Condition of the vehicles reported, categorised into exellent, good, just etc 4 Mileage of the vehicles reported The guidelines in the brochure list both the suggested trade in monetary value every bit good as the suggested retail monetary value. These monetary values, used in concurrence with a formulated graph in the dorsum of the brochure, stipulating the per centum allowed for addition/deduction as per the status of the vehicle and its milage determines the guideline used by the trader to explicate a value. Other factors which may act upon this value are fixs neccesary to market the vehicle effectivley as stipulated under inquiry 3: 7.What can a concern or individual do to act upon the monetary value that they could acquire for a trade-in? 1. Historically makers tend to lauch new theoretical accounts at twelvemonth terminal. In the yesteryear, it was possible to registry such freshly lauched theoretical accounts in the undermentioned twelvemonth provided the vehicle was registered within 21 yearss of reception of the vehicle as per the 21 twenty-four hours temporay license issued. However the new Natis systemdoes non let for this and it is hence unpointed buying a vehicle before twelvemonth terminal. It would besides be wise to take monetary value hikings, historically scheduled by manufactureres for near on twelvemonth terminal, into consideration in concurrence with the twelvemonth of regiistration eg.it would non neccesarlily be better to wait a month or so to enable you to purchase a auto registerd in the undermentioned twelvemonth if monetary value hikings eliminate the salvaging you may hold had when trading in your vehicle Cheaper vehicles tend to bring better monetary values during Jan through the first portion of Feb as demand is increased by pupils, and public-service corporation type vehicles tend to bring better monetary values at the start of the vacation seasons 1.What is depreciation and why do we account for it? The older the vehicle the less the trade in 2.Do two vehicles of the same brand with similar characteristics depreciate at the same rate? Why is this so? The first twelvemonth both autos will deprecate approx 37 % .A It usually depreciates between 27-30 % , evidently the more expensive the vehicle, the more depreciation in rand value 3.What factors, except the brand of the vehicle, act upon the monetary value of a second-hand auto? Vehicle must be orderly and tidy ; tyres in good status, non involved in an accident, upholstery in good status, the lower the milage the better, no bit marks on windshield, rust free 4. If a newer theoretical account of a auto comes out, how does this impact the monetary value of the old theoretical account and the Second-hand market? Normally if a new theoretical account comes out, it comes with an addition in monetary value, to acquire rid of old theoretical accounts ASAP ; A all depends on the fiscal place of client, if a smart face lift of the new theoretical account, client will instead purchase new one 5.How does VAT work in the sale of a second-hand auto? Precisely the same for new autos, VAT is collectible for both 6.Are there any guidelines when pricing a second-hand auto? One has to follow the guidelines in the Mead A ; McGrouther ; following taken into consideration: A low milage, status, tyres, rust, accident free 7.What can a concern or individual do to act upon the monetary value that they could acquire for a trade-in? Same as inquiry 3 8.Is there a peculiar clip of the twelvemonth that it is better to purchase or sell or trade-an a vehicle? If you trade in a vehicle in Nov/Dec you will acquire more, but on the other manus if you buy in January, auto will be registered in the New Year. Section 1 1.What is depreciation and why do we account for it? Depreciation is the lasting and go oning decline in the quality, measure or value of an plus. Depreciation Accounting trades with the allotment of costs of fixed assets over their utile lives. For illustration, when we buy fixed plus like mill machinery, this is simply an beforehand payment of which we expect that this fixed plus is able to heighten or gain certain net incomes for the concern. Over a period of clip, the fixed plus we buy will go valueless or unable to bring forth the necessary net incomes. To reflect this go oning decline in the value of the mill machinery, we need to use depreciation accounting. The grounds for depreciation are: wear and tear, obsolescence, falls in market monetary value, effluxion of clip, physical factors, and insufficiency. Reasons why we account for depreciation are: to determine the net earnings/profit for an accounting period, depreciation demands to be computed. Depreciation usually constitutes a major portion of the disbursals of the concern. As the concern buys fixed assets, it expects the fixed assets over the utile lives are able to bring forth the necessary grosss for its concern. Whilst grosss being earned and if there is no allotment of depreciation cost to fit this gross, income will so be overstated. Besides, fixed assets in the Balance Sheet will be overstated if depreciation is non provided for. Merely that portion of the costs of fixed assets that have non expired should be reflected in the Balance sheet otherwise the fiscal statement would non reflect a true and just position. And if depreciation is non provided for and presuming if the whole net incomes were withdrawn during the life of the plus, extra capital would hold to be raised when it is clip to replace the fixed assets. By bear downing depreciation against net incomes, the ultimate residuary net income available for distribution is lowered and that financess are retained in the concern for future replacing 2.Look in a newspaper for two different makes of new autos ( e.g. A Hyundai and a Mercedes ) of your pick and note their monetary values. Find the same two makes of autos with similar characteristics for sale second-hand guaranting that they both are every bit old as the other ( e.g. 2 old ages old ) . Calculate how much each brand of auto has deprecated per centum wise over the clip period. Did both makes depreciate by the same per centum? Explain why do you believe this is so? The depreciation of a vehicle largely depends on the application of it by the driver. Therefore, two vehicles of the same brand and theoretical account may deprecate a different rate. A vehicle will usually deprecate at a rate of 27-30 % per twelvemonth. 3.Besides theoretical accounts, describe other factors the influence the monetary value of a second-hand auto. Second manus auto monetary value must be based upon the marketability of the auto, which you wish to sell. If brand and theoretical account of your auto is new, so decidedly you may wish to sell it every bit shortly as possible. Other factors which may act upon the monetary value of a second-hand auto are: milage, status, particular characteristics of the auto, who has been driving the auto, gasoline ingestion and has any major decorative or mechanical betterments been made to the auto recently. 4.If a new theoretical account of a peculiar auto comes out, how does that impact the monetary value of the old theoretical account and what consequence does this hold on the second-hand market? When a newer theoretical account of a auto comes out, the monetary value of the old theoretical account will be cheaper. This is due to the fact that the older auto theoretical account is out dated. Its engineering is less advanced than the newer theoretical accounts. On the other manus, a vehicle may be popular and therefore the monetary value will go on to increase. 5.How does VAT work in the sale of a second-hand auto? There are two ways in which motor traders handle VAT on used vehicles. Some charge VAT merely on the net income they make on the sale of the auto. This is known as the second-hand border strategy, used by most auto traders. Alternatively, they can bear down VAT on the entire dealing cost – that is the second-hand merchandising monetary value achieved. It depends on how they choose to maintain their records. The second-hand border strategy requires more paperwork from the trader. He must, for illustration, maintain the relevant stock books, which include inside informations such as the auto ‘s engine figure. Each method of bear downing VAT is legal, and HMRC is concerned merely that the trader tells them which strategy he is utilizing. There is no duty for the trader to state the client at the beginning which method of bear downing VAT will be used. Nor is at that place a legal right for the client to cognize, or be told, how much of the monetary value comprises VAT. Yet as VAT on the full purchase monetary value is likely to be instead more than VAT on the trader ‘s net income on the dealing, it seems to me worth inquiring which method of bear downing VAT a auto trader uses before make up one’s minding to purchase. 6.Are there guidelines for all traders when pricing second-hand autos? Pricing of used autos can be affected by geographics: for illustration, a saloon will do more sence in a metropolis than in an waterless country where it is hard to drive. Similarly, pickups are frequently more in demand in rural than urban scenes. Condition – Is the auto in excellent, good or just status – has a major impact on pricing. Condition is based on visual aspects, vehicle history, mechanical status and milage. There is much subjectiveness in how the status of a auto is evaluated. 7.List some things a individual or concern can make to act upon the monetary value that they could acquire for a trade-in? When it comes to acquiring value for your trade-in, one should ever make 1s homework. The key to making good in a dealing with a trader is to be knowledgeable. Before heading to the auto batch, research your auto online. One should understand the market every bit good. Be realistic about what you ‘re selling, expression at your milage and how good the auto has been kept. All these things come into drama when valuing your auto. Cleaning your auto may somewhat increase your autos book value. Regardless of what the car pricing ushers say, it ‘s up to the trader to accept your trade-in. So, it ‘s of import to look at your auto or truck from the trader ‘s point of view. One of the franchise ‘s major concerns is finding how rapidly your trade-in is likely to sell to another purchaser. When trading-in a auto, a trader looks at the vehicle, walks around it, look into it to see if it ‘s had pigment work and look into to see if any harm has been done to it and take the vehicle for a thrust. They will look into to see what mend the vehicle will necessitate to acquire up to standard or they have to make up one’s mind if it would be excessively much to hold the fixs done. They will besides be cognizant of what a auto is presently selling for. A smaller auto trade-in that are in great status menu better right now.If you have a clean, used auto, with no accidents and no amendss, and if it ‘s a four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine, it will convey a just monetary value. Of class, it ‘s up to the consumer to research in progress what that just monetary value could be. If you ‘re merchandising in a newer-model used auto, so surprisingly, it could work against you. If it ‘s a twelvemonth or less, the auto could still be viing with new cars of the same brand and theoretical account. In add-on, the maker may be offering particular inducements for the new auto. Separate the trade-in and new auto transactions. There are many variables involved in buying a new ( or new-to-you ) auto, including the finance rate, new auto monetary value and down payment sum. Make certain the monetary value you get for your trade is non affected by any of them. The first trader you meet, maintain your options open when negociating a trade in, do non restrict yourself to merely one trader. Section 2 1.What is an plus registry and what does it include? The plus registry is a tool, which helps you to remain in control of your assets in a simple and efficient mode. Here, you register all the inside informations for each single plus: designation figure of plus, description of plus, on which day of the month it was bought, cost, how it was financed, rate and method of depreciation, one-year depreciation for each twelvemonth of its life, current book value, day of the month of disposal and returns from disposal. 2.How does a concern make up one’s mind what vehicle to buy-model, do, colour, ect? On what are these determinations based? Obviously fundss will be the biggest factor when make up one’s minding what vehicle to buy. The vehicle must be low-cost, fuel efficient and easy maintained to cut down the running cost. It will besides hold to an intended intent. For illustration, an electrician requires a pick-up truck to be able to transport his equipment ; a saloon will be of no usage to him at all. A company like Henning Crushers will purchase big choice truck to transport bricks and other natural stuffs. 3.What method and rate of depreciation does your concern usage and why? A concern like Henning crusher depreciates its vehicles at a rate of 15 % a twelvemonth on the cost monetary value method. This is due to revenue enhancement intents and the fact that a vehicle will deprecate really rapidly. 4.How does a concern decide when to sell or merchandise a vehicle? What form is your used auto in? If your auto is in good form, you might see selling it yourself. If you need to do fixs, though, you need to chew over how much you ‘re traveling to put in the fixs. The truth is you might non reimburse the full investing. So, weigh the possible cost of fixs against the potency added value. Regardless if you sell or trade in your used auto, it has to be in good form. Follow my bit-by-bit instructions for selling or trading in your used auto. A batch of research is necessary whether you sell or trade in your used auto. Trading your used auto in requires traveling to the top three rating sites: Edmunds.com, kbb.com, and NADA.com and set uping a monetary value you will realistically acquire for your used auto if you trade it in. Selling your auto requires the same measure, but it besides requires you researching the best methods for selling your used auto. You besides have to research how to do the transportation when the clip comes every bit good as research what others in your country are seeking to sell their used autos for. Do you like paperwork? When you sell your used auto to a trader, the franchise has staff to manage the paperwork for you. Basically, you drop off the keys and they present you with a neat and tidy bundle of documents to subscribe. Your home bases either get transferred or you get a new enrollment depending on your province ‘s patterns. When you sell your used auto to a private purchaser, you have to make all the paperwork yourself. You have to do certain the dealing is handled decently and the rubric transportation is done right. Make it wrong and you could go on to be the proprietor for revenue enhancement and liabilities of the vehicle. Plus, you have to travel to your motor vehicle office and consequence all the necessary paperwork alterations. What is your clip worth to you? 5.Why is it of import to reexamine the value of a vehicle from the point of position of sing them? Vehicle insurance ( besides known as car insurance, auto insurance, or motor insurance ) is insurance purchased for autos, trucks, and other vehicles. Its primary usage is to supply protection against losingss incurred as a consequence of traffic accidents and against liability that could be incurred in an accident. Harmonizing to the insurance policy, a plus must be insured as near to its true value as possible. One of the most common grounds to maintain a vehicle care log is for a leased auto to demo that you have honored your terminal of the rental contract by maintaining up with standard care on the vehicle at, or prior to, the maker ‘s suggested clip intervals. A vehicle care log will clearly demo oil alterations, tyre rotary motions, brake reviews or replacings and so on. At the clip you return your vehicle from rental, you may be asked to turn out that the auto was maintained decently. The vehicle care log will come in really ready to hand. Another common ground to maintain a vehicle care log is when utilizing a company auto. Often it is required in this instance for revenue enhancement intents. Everything related to the auto, abruptly of utilizing it for pleasance, is a write-down for the company. This includes gasolene and all care. Therefore rigorous records are required. A vehicle care log works absolutely. Similarly, if utilizing your private auto for company concern a part of gasolene, milage and care might be revenue enhancement deductible. Often, concerns will reimburse you alternatively, but in either instance a vehicle care log is required. Whenever the auto is used for concern intents, get downing and stoping milage must be noted and dated in the log. However, a vehicle care log is a good thought for anyone. It ‘s easy to bury how long it ‘s been since certain care has been performed without a record. Again, a good kept up auto is a safer auto and can take to salvage money on fixs down the route. Besides, cogent evidence that you have maintained your vehicle decently is really of import to the following purchaser and really increases the value of the vehicle. It exudes an air of attention and meticulosity, and a auto that has been maintained is less likely to hold or develop serious jobs. Finally, when you do hold to take the auto in for fixs, it ‘s ready to hand for the technician to see the work that has already been done. Cultural Pluralism free essay sample

Cultural Pluralism is a term used when smaller groups within a larger society maintain their unique cultural identities, and their values and practices are accepted by the wider culture provided they are consistent with the laws and values of the wider society. In my neighborhood, (Brooklyn, East Flat bush) there are many people from different races, culture and creed. I am surrounded by Indians, Asians, Latinos, Russians, African Americans, West Indians and Jews and we all co-exist with each other. Native Americans and the Amish are both superior examples of how cultural pluralism works. The Native Americans continue to reside on their isolated reservations and speak their traditional language without being a bother to dominating society. The Amish also maintain their customary life style organized around farming and keep their customs separate from the dominances as well. It can be a problem not to understand another culture, especially, in New York City where we live in a society that is rapidly changing. We will write a custom essay sample on Cultural Pluralism or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The City has increasingly brought people of various cultures, to interact closer with each other. This interaction can be either positive or negative depending on the level of sensitivity and respect people have for other cultural groups. One cultural group may believe that their culture and traditions are better than the other persons culture and may even seek to convince you or to impose their beliefs on you. Especially when it comes to religious and political beliefs. The negative side to all this is that each culture has their own beliefs, traditions and values that could pose a problem on someone else who do not share those values or traditions. Disagreements over whats right or wrong and lack f communication because of language barriers could arise. But with an open mind, we could all turn this toa positive and learn from each others culture. For example, something as basic as cooking rice, each culture have their own way of cooking a rice dish. The may prepare rice and beans different toga Hispanics or a West Indians. Is there a right way or wrong way of cooking rice? Not really. But we can all learn from each other and come to realize that hey, this is delicious maybe we can try to cook this way once in a while and integrate it in our own mix. Now a moral absolutist believes that there are universal laws that governs and draws a line between right and wrong. For example a moral absolutist may say that its wrong to take a life so therefore, having an abortion is morally wrong regardless of the beliefs and goals of a culture that engages in these practices. Lying, for instance, would always be immoral, even if done to promote some other good (e. g. , saving a life). Then theres the ethical relativist who believes that whatever is right in someones moral frame work is right to them. One advantage of ethical relativism is that it allows for a wide variety of cultures and practices. It also allows people to adapt ethically as the culture, knowledge, and technology change in society. The disadvantage of ethical relativism is that truth, right and wrong, and Justice are all relative. Just because a group of people think that something is right does not make it so. Slavery is a good example of this. Two hundred years ago in America, slavery was the norm and morally acceptable.

Admiral Yi Sun Shin of Korea

Admiral Yi Sun Shin of Korea Admiral Yi Sun Shin of Joseon Korea is revered today in both North Korea and South Korea. Indeed, attitudes toward the great naval commander verge on worshipful in South Korea, and Yi appears in several television dramas, including the eponymous Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-shin from 2004-05.   The admiral almost single-handedly saved Korea during the Imjin War (1592-1598), but his career path in the corrupt Joseon military was anything but smooth. Early Life Yi Sun Shin was born in Seoul on April 28, 1545. His family was noble, but his grandfather had been purged from the government in the Third Literati Purge of 1519, so the Deoksu Yi clan steered clear of government service. As a child, Yi reportedly played commander in neighborhood war games and made his own functional bows and arrows. He also studied Chinese characters and classics, as was expected of a yangban boy. In his twenties, Yi began to study at a military academy. There he learned archery, horseback riding, and other martial skills. He took the Kwago National Military Exam to become a junior officer at the age of 28, but fell from his horse during the cavalry test and broke his leg. Legend holds that he hobbled to a willow tree, cut some branches, and splinted his own leg so that he could continue the test. In any case, he failed the exam due to this injury. Four years later, in 1576, Yi took the military exam once more and passed.  He became the oldest junior officer in the Joseon military at the age of 32. The new officer was posted to the northern border, where Joseon troops regularly battled Jurchen (Manchu) invaders. Army Career Soon, young officer Yi became known throughout the army for his leadership and his strategic mastery.   He captured the Jurchen chief Mu Pai Nai in battle in 1583, dealing the invaders a crushing blow.  In the corrupt Joseon army, however, Yis early successes led his superior officers to fear for their own positions, so they decided to sabotage his career. Conspirators led by General Yi Il falsely accused Yi Sun Shin of desertion during a battle; he was arrested, stripped of his rank, and tortured. When Yi got out of prison, he immediately re-enlisted in the army as an ordinary foot-soldier.  Once again his strategic brilliance and military expertise soon got him promoted to commander of a military training center in Seoul, and later to military magistrate of a rural county. Yi Sun Shin continued to ruffle feathers, however, refusing to promote the friends and relatives of his superiors if they did not merit a higher position. This uncompromising integrity was very unusual in the Joseon army and made him few friends.   However, his value as an officer and strategist kept him from being purged. Navy Man At the age of 45, Yi Sun Shin was promoted to the rank of Commanding Admiral of the Southwestern Sea, in the Jeolla region, despite the fact that he had no naval training or experience.   It was 1590, and Admiral Yi was acutely aware of the growing threat posed to Korea by Japan. Japans taiko, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, was determined to conquer Korea as a stepping stone to Ming China. From there, he even dreamed of expanding the Japanese Empire into India. Admiral Yis new naval command lay in a key position along Japans sea route to Seoul, the Joseon capital. Yi immediately began to build up the Korean navy in the southwest, and ordered the construction of the worlds first iron-clad, the turtle ship.  He stockpiled food and military supplies and instituted a strict new training regimen. Yis command was the only section of the Joseon military actively preparing for war with Japan. Japan Invades In 1592, Hideyoshi ordered his samurai army to attack Korea, beginning with Busan, on the southeast coast. Admiral Yis fleet sailed out to oppose their landing, and despite his complete lack of naval combat experience, he quickly defeated the Japanese at the Battle of Okpo, where he was outnumbered 54 ships to 70; the Battle of Sacheon, which was the debut of the turtle boat and resulted in every Japanese ship in the fight sinking; and several others. Hideyoshi, impatient at this delay, deployed all 1,700 of his available ships to Korea, meaning to crush Yis fleet and take control of the seas. Admiral Yi, however, responded in August 1592 with the Battle of Hansan-do, in which his 56 ships defeated a Japanese detachment of 73, sinking 47 of Hideyoshis ships without losing a single Korean one.  In disgust, Hideyoshi recalled his entire fleet. In 1593, the Joseon king promoted Admiral Yi to the commander of three provinces navies: Jeolla, Gyeongsang, and Chungcheong.  His title was Naval Commander of the Three Provinces. Meanwhile, however, the Japanese plotted to get Yi out of the way so that the Japanese armys supply lines would be secure. They sent a double agent called Yoshira to the Joseon Court, where he told Korean General Kim Gyeong-seo that he wanted to spy on the Japanese. The general accepted his offer, and Yoshira began feeding the Koreans minor intelligence. Finally, he told the general that a Japanese fleet was approaching, and Admiral Yi needed to sail to a certain area to intercept and ambush them. Admiral Yi knew that the supposed ambush was actually a trap for the Korean fleet, laid by the Japanese double agent.  The area for the ambush had rough waters that hid many rocks and shoals. Admiral Yi refused to take the bait.   In 1597, because of his refusal to sail into the trap, Yi was arrested and tortured almost to death.   The king ordered him executed, but some of the admirals supporters managed to get the sentence commuted. General Won Gyun was appointed to head the navy in his place; Yi once more was broken down to the rank of foot-soldier. Meanwhile, Hideyoshi launched his second invasion of Korea early in 1597.  He sent 1,000 ships carrying 140,000 men. This time, however, Ming China sent the Koreans thousands of reinforcements, and they managed to hold off the land-based troops. However, Admiral Yis replacement, Won Gyun, made a series of tactical blunders at sea that left the Japanese fleet in a much stronger position. On August 28, 1597, his Joseon fleet of 150 warships blundered into a Japanese fleet of between 500 and 1,000 ships. Only 13 of the Korean ships survived; Won Gyun was killed. The fleet that Admiral Yi had so carefully built was demolished. When King Seonjo heard about the disastrous Battle of Chilchonryang, he immediately reinstated Admiral Yi but the great admirals fleet had been destroyed. Nonetheless, Yi was defiant of orders to take his sailors ashore.  I still have twelve warships under my command, and I am alive. The enemy shall never be safe in the Western Sea! In October of 1597, he lured a Japanese fleet of 333 into the Myeongnyang Strait, which was narrow and dredged by a powerful current. Yi laid chains across the mouth of the strait, trapping the Japanese ships inside. As the ships sailed through the strait in a heavy fog, many hit rocks and sank. Those that survived were enveloped by Admiral Yis carefully deposed force of 13, which sank 33 of them without using a single Korean ship.   The Japanese commander Kurushima Michifusa was killed in action. Admiral Yis victory at the Battle of Myeongnyang was one of the greatest naval triumphs not just in Korean history, but in all of history. It thoroughly demoralized the Japanese fleet and cut the supply lines to the Japanese army in Korea. The Final Battle In December of 1598, the Japanese decided to break through the Joseon sea blockade and bring the troops home to Japan. On the morning of December 16, a Japanese fleet of 500 met Yis combined Joseon and Ming fleet of 150 at Noryang Strait. Once again, the Koreans prevailed, sinking about 200 of the Japanese ships and capturing an additional 100. However, as the surviving Japanese retreated, a lucky arquebus shot by one of the Japanese troops hit Admiral Yi in the left side. Yi feared that his death could demoralize the Korean and Chinese troops, so he told his son and nephew We are about to win the war.  Do not announce my death! The younger men carried his body below decks to conceal the tragedy and re-entered the fight. This drubbing at the Battle of Noryang was the last straw for the Japanese. They sued for peace and withdrew all troops from Korea. The Joseon kingdom, however, had lost its greatest admiral. In the final tally, Admiral Yi was undefeated in at least 23 naval battles, despite being seriously outnumbered in most of them. Although he had never fought at sea before Hideyoshis invasion, his strategic brilliance saved Korea from being conquered by Japan. Admiral Yi Sun Shin died defending a nation that had betrayed him more than once, and for that, he is still honored today throughout the Korean Peninsula and is even respected in Japan.

STS401 Mod 5 TD Example

STS401 Mod 5 TD Example STS401 Mod 5 TD – Coursework Example Statistics in the business world I have learned numerous statistical factors which shall all be beneficial to me in life in one way or the other. I cannot say for a fact that there are some of them which I regret learning or which was a waste of my time and memory space. They are all key tools that can be applied at some place at some time.In the business world specifically, the tools that shall be most beneficial to me are measures of central tendency and spread, hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression. These I shall apply in dealing with the facts and figures that pose a challenge in the business world every day. I shall apply the measures of central tendency to get to compare figures between months and even years; I shall use hypothesis testing to determine whether my set targets were achieved at the end of the day; I shall use simple and multiple regression to determine whether or not certain variables are related to each other or not. There are some tools which I shall not quite make use of in the business world. These are the data types, frequency tables and probability. It would not benefit me much in business to get to know whether data is a Boolean or an integer. Likewise, I would not wish to know how certain frequencies come out from the data I have in the business world. I would also not need to make use of probability in business as I would want to be sure of what I am doing and hence I would base my projections on past data analysis and not on probability analysis. Social media and prisoners assignment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Social media and prisoners assignment - Essay Example This is because, allowing the prisoners to access and use social media is placing the victims and the families of those affected by the crimes at the mercy of the prisoners, for perpetual threatening, insults and further torment. Whenever the victims and the families of the victims encounter the faces of the prisoners who offended them on the internet calling for friendship and love, it is a horrifying reminder of the ordeals they suffered on the hands of the offenders. Additionally, allowing the prisoners to access and use social media, presents them with an opportunity to seek for their victims and their families online, and continue to torment or threaten them through inappropriate messages (Allisa, 73). For these reasons, those opposed to the prisoners accessing and using social media platforms to access the outside world, holds the opinion that it is only fair to hinder, and illegalize any access of social media by prisoners. Secondly, the critics and those contesting social media access and use by prisoners, hold that such action amounts to opening further avenues for the criminals to continue perpetrating crimes, since by allowing the prisoners to use social media platforms, they can engage in plans to escape from jail, or even organize for the supply of contraband goods into the prisons, or worse still, coordinate further criminal activities through communicating with their partners in the outside world (Jonsson, 1). For example, in May 2000, an inmate from a New York prison who had been sentenced for fraud was found to have masterminded a stock-picking internet fraudulent scheme (Allisa, 74). Further, a case of David Puckett, an in inmate from Texas who befriended and cajoled a Face book friend who eventually assisted him to escape from prison, serves to strengthen the case for those opposed to the access and use of social media by prisoners (Jonsson, 2). Nevertheless, the discussion holds that prisoners should be allowed the access and

See Assessment criteria below Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

See Assessment criteria below - Essay Example To what extent are they (in)compatible with each other? To what extent do their accounts reinforce, undermine, coincide with or complement each other? To what extent are their accounts (or might their accounts be) combinable into a superior (or at least a more comprehensive) account of these historical dimensions of human thought and understanding? To what extent do their respective insights and oversights help us better to understand or to resolve issues about the historical dimensions of human thought and understanding? Hegel and Heidegger were both eminent philosophers of their respective times: Hegel (1770-1831), the earlier of the two, belongs to the school of Idealism whereas Heidegger (1889-1976) was one of the main exponents of 20th century Existentialism. Hegel sees the development of Being as an infinite development cycle triggered by the intention of becoming something what it is not at present, and this perpetual chain of development is marked by a point of coincidence of being and non-being, which, when united, form a higher entity. The former entity is therefore combined, through the factors of being and non-being, in a higher synthesis of the two. The development of Being therefore consists of three stages: being is the thesis, non-being the antithesis, and the becoming is the synthesis. These stages are repeated ad infinitum so that the new Being is again tested by the non-being and achieves a still higher stage in the melding of thesis and antithesis to a new stage of becoming. Being is therefore in a constant state of flux, it is rebuilding itself ad infinitum to achieve higher stages of itself. The former stages of Being are not nullified but re=evaluated, so in the development of the human personality we pass from one stat e to another, constantly evaluating and developing our personality, passing from state to state without nullifying the previous state, which is constantly dividing and recomposing itself.

In short, nursing empowerment is the main objective. The need for empowerment and organizational orientation in the hospital setting is essential in sharing knowledge, training and supervising other nurses in actual situations. As health professional, tangible skills and knowledge in a hospital setting is very important in managing clients and supervising their needs. In general, my role is focused on providing effective, quality care. In our workplace, emphases on these areas are well implemented and give me the room for improvement and increase my self confidence and empowerment. Competency and Autonomy is essential. As part of the team, empowerment is vital and these three factors are the most important thing in hand before going to the battle. My ability is incorporated with decision making and critical thinking ability. When achieving the empowerment and my personal professional traits, change is very important, especially in behavior and attitude. Change requires adding new forces for change or removal of some of the existing factors that are at play in perpetuating the behavior. I participated in professional activities that aid in making the change that include imitation of role models and looking for personalized solutions through trial-and-error learning. My personal mission and vision are crafted toward this goal; especially in patient management and professional advantage. I have developed behavior toward work and patient that becomes habitual, which includes developing a new self-concept identity and establishing new interpersonal relationships. This personal competencies and experiences are applicable to all health care professionals in identifying problems because it addresses the changes required to achieve organizational goals. This concept is important because of its nature in terms of change process and behavioral approach method. Behavior, personal traits and knowledge can be addressed through the utilization of change. My career plans are centered in the future of developing my ability to self determination and freedom in choosing and implementing my own decisions free from deceit duress, constraints or coercion. This trait is also known as autonomy. I have developed this competency through professional independence and decision making skills with the aid of critical thinking ability. As nursing student, entering into a new environment not knowing what to expect is difficult. Yes, patient care is the same everywhere, but they must be comfortable with the environment they are placed in. Adaptation is crucial in the clinical arena. My goal in this area is to be familiarized in protocols through use of an orientation plan in hospital settings before my clinical experience may become a highly useful and an effective strategy in clinical education will be carried out. I become less apprehensive about the clinical environment and become more patient focused, therefore increasing the effectiveness of self empowerment and autonomy. This also provides me with the opportunity for role modeling as the patient maintains and develops standards of practice and competent care in a familiar environment. In my current learning environment, nursing managers and supervisors let nurses decide for their patient in a professional and proper way with accordance to protocols and policy o f the institution. I learned how to communicate effectively at all levels which is a common barrier in the implementation of change among health care in various settings. Communication practices were also addressed in order to identify and effectively set the goals. I also was lucky to be granted with the blessing of being able to work with some exceptional health care professionals that really cared for and about their clients; Health care professionals that would do everything in their abilities and power to make their patient feel better physically and emotionally. That is what I hope to be able to do in the future: providing extraordinary care everyday. Maybe someday I can be a role model and inspiration to other people to strive for a higher level of competence just as those I look up to were for me. In pursuing this education, my purpose is to help patient achieve their wellbeing and achieving their maximum potentials. Developing the health care society serve as a deep challenge to study further and gain enough knowledge, more information about the life itself and definitely to be an effective and productive member of the society and furthermore, helping my peer to gain more knowledge. In my workplace and learning environment, superiors initiates the development of a clinical practice programs based on the goals or mission of the institution given to us. These development programs increases my professional autonomy, confidence, knowledge, skills and competency and allows me to understand the importance of my roles. The program helps me in my transition into different roles by assisting in understanding effective methods of delivering care to patients in the clinical setting. It stresses the importance of utilizing the nursing process in the care of individuals, families, and community by assessing the client health care status, planning with client or significant others the action based on identified needs and problems, implementing appropriate nursing interventions wholly compensatory, supportive and educative, modifying interventions and evaluating the results of nursing interventions accordingly based on criteria established. These criteria help me to produce co mpetent effective qualities and ability to sustain the demand for care in response to increasing numbers of patients. The utilization of my personal and professional process serves as guidelines in implementing my roles. I believe that the essence of my profession is having the possession of knowledge and competency in performing skills and interventions. It involves a combination of many disciplines, including aspects of biology and psychology to promote the restoration and maintenance of health in our clients. And at the end of the day, behind the vital signs and doctors order, what will count the most is how much you really cared. Yes- this caring which made this profession unique in the first place? The genuine reward of this work comes from the distinct gleam of the clients eyes every time we perform what we have sworn to do. Although it is sad fact that some nurses are quite amnesic to why they become nurses in the first place, the future nurses of today still, should rise and take the challenge of being real nurse. My late mother and my dearest family helped and continually inspiring me to study further. They were my inspiration in teaching for several years and these experiences brought me bundles of wisdom and enough knowledge to face the challenges. Through the years of my teaching, I realized this profession requires patience and self confidence which is automatically injected to me when I decided to do so. I believed I was used as an instrument in developing my peers ability and molding their character. That is why I did my very best and I gave whatever I may give to them. This profession gave me more opportunity to improve and sustain my competency. The years of experiences in hospital setting allowed me to possess  a substantial background to keep my ambitions alive. It has been very interesting and I find myself loving what I do as well as my patients. But amidst of these thing, I am not exempted in the test of hard work, motivation and challenge to be strong. These obstacles gave me a room to develop my full maturity, learn to become team player and to enhance my critical thinking ability. With this ability and character that I possess I was able to improve my own capability inside and outside the classroom and workplace. I am very proud to be able to share different aspects of my life that are not apparent from my professional and academic record. After being encouraged to continue my degree by both family and friends, I found that pursuing career and education are character-defining time in my professional and personal life, causing me to face different challenges such as personal and financial hardship and manage roles and responsibilities associated with work, school and family. I am very excited and enthusiastic about this coming year, I know I can face challenges because of the determination and motivation to achieve my goals and desired career. It would create and open a gateway of opportunities and I know I could achieve my dreams and I want to pursue my ambition in the field of nursing.
